Over a year ago Rana took a class at Asilomar with Mary Lou Weidman. She came away with an amazing quilt that tells the story of her family. She has received permission from Mary Lou to teach her class for our shop. This class is a process class centered on the time honored tradition of thought in handwork. You will be exploring yourself and the ones you love. Legacy quilts or quilted memories are wonderful pieces that speak volumes about the people who produce them. You will be telling us about the people, places, or events that have touched your lives in some way. This class will touch your heart and your funny bone. Come prepared to approach quilting from a new angle. This is a project for the intermediate stitcher and beyond. As you can see, this is a 2 session class, providing a week in-between to work on your project. Cost: $60 plus book

Fused Fantasy Flowers with Signe James
Saturday, March 29, 10:00 - 3:00

Signe joined SLO Quilters and began quilting in 1996, having retired from a career that included scene design, costuming, puppetry, and a busy craft fair business making and selling puppets. She has taught workshops for the guild and quilt classes for San Luis Adult School. Most of her classes have emphasized techniques that do not rely on traditional patterns. Fun colorful wall hangings are usually the result. This class teaches you a variety of cutting techniques which, when used on pre-fused fabrics, can produce an infinite variety of 2 dimensional flowers. Variations will also be taught for leaves and stems. After creating a selection of various flowers and leaves, you will arrange and fuse them on a back ground to create a fanciful garden, a floral bouquet of a lovely overall design. Cost: $40
