Historical Quilt
Trunk Show with Janet Fletcher
Saturday, February 9, 1:00 - 2:30
We are thrilled to present a
very special trunk show. Janet Fletcher is a quilt historian
and collector of many, many antique quilts. She will show us
part (10 to 15 quilts) of her 19th century collection, some
dating to the time of Benjamin Franklin. She will discuss
each quilt and the era in which it was produced.
Refreshments will be served in the shop after the trunk
show. Contact us for more information or come in and sign
up.
Sylvia Pippin
Workshop
Saturday, April 5, 10:00 - 5:00 or Sunday, April 6,
10:00 - 5:00
It is with the greatest
pleasure that we will be hosting this event. The
anticipation and response has been so great that Sylvia has
agreed to do her workshop for us twice. Each workshop will
be 6 hours with either Sashiko or appliqués in the morning
and the other after lunch. That lunch will be provided by In
Stitches. All skill levels are welcome.
Sylvia would like to have no
more than 20 students in each session. We will call those of
you who are on the waiting list to confirm your day. After
that, it will be first come, first served. We look forward
to sharing this wonderful weekend with you.
News & Tidbits
Jammin Jammies night
has gained a reputation all its own. Seems like the
hilarity went on past mid-night last time. The food was
oh-so-tasty and we even got some stitching done.
Remember, this event fills up fast, so sign up early.
Join us on Friday, February 1, from 6:00 till
whenever. Cost is $10.

Hanging, or I should say, "crawling"
around the front door is our 2nd annual Turtle Bowl
Sunday turtle block. The turtle is laughing - because
she is In Stitches, of course. The pattern is free to all.
Please make us a paper pieced turtle, bring it in to hang
with its pals, and after our Turtle Bowl Sunday Party
on February 3rd we'll draw the name of the lucky
winner who will receive all of the blocks. Darlene Kaberline
was the proud winner last year. We have every turtle pattern
here in the shop that we could find out there on the WWW.
We'll have lots of munchies and stuff to drink at the party
during the game. We'll also have a really good sale going
on, so come join us for some Turtle Bowl Fun.
----------
While we're on the subject of days for
celebrating . . . Debi has a birthday on February
16th. Yep, it's a big one!!!! You'll get 1/2 of her
age off of fabric on that day and goodies as well.

You are all just dying to know about this
year's Block of the Month, aren't you? We know you
are. Well, here's what's up. We've got a fun little oceany
project that we've been playing with - but - we're going to
kit the whole thing up and not string you along for 15
months. A sample will be hanging in the shop.
So what is the BOM? For a fun, quick
little project we're doing a tea towel of the month.
We'll provide a choice of fabulous tea towels and
embroidery patterns - you will come in on the 2nd
Saturday of each month and choose your towel and
pattern. We'll have a short lesson at 11:00 that day.
The real BOM project for 2008 is still in the works.
We'll keep you posted. It will be well worth the wait!
